Shopping on the Gulf Coast of Florida

For those who enjoy shopping, Port Charlotte has the largest enclosed mall in Charlotte County, offering shopping in fine department stores, as well as 90+ exclusive specialty stores.. Venice is just a few miles up the road and has some very pretty shopping areas around the coast. There are 2 discount outlets, one to the north and one to the south. Between them they offer over 400 outlets!

For those looking for a more leisurely shopping adventure then spend a day at Fishermen's Village in Southwest Florida, located on the water in Punta Gorda. Browse in and out of exclusive boutiques and shops the ideal place to purchase gifts for those back home.

Stroll along the charming red brick street, Sullivan Street, in historic downtown Punta Gorda with brightly coloured houses, some over 100 years old. The specialty gift shops offer handcrafted art, upscale fashion ware, decorative accents and accessories, books and locally crafted sculptures. The Punta Gorda shopping district runs along East and West Marion Streets through the heart of the downtown area and offers a variety of interesting choices from shabby chic to gourmet cookware and accessories to books and jewelery. Art galleries are also plentiful.

Located on the waterfront, where Peace River meets Charlotte Harbor, is the Harbour Inn Antique Mall. Over 50 antique dealers buy and sell linens, lace, dolls, fine china, silver, art pottery, books, postcards, furniture and much more. The Antique Mall is open Monday through to Saturday from 9 am to 3 pm. Every month on the second Saturday, an Antique Fair occurs at the Harbour Inn.
